Access to the Building:

The school is located on the ground floor.
There is one step at the entrance to the main building.
There are three steps at the entrance to the annex building.
No ramps are available.

Access Within the School:

Most rooms are accessible without steps.
Exception: The classroom “Hamburg” in the main building is not step-free accessible (2 steps).

Doors and Passageways:

Most doors are approximately 80–90 cm wide and are suitable for wheelchairs and walkers.
In the corridor of the main building, there are two passageways with a width of approximately 80–85 cm, which are also passable.
No automatic door opening system is available.

Sanitary Facilities:

The toilets are not barrier-free accessible.
The door width is approximately 69 cm and therefore not suitable for wheelchairs.
The interior space is also narrow.
The distance between the sink and the wall is also approximately 69 cm (passage to the toilet).

At BWS Germanlingua Cologne Language School

Public Transport Access:

The nearest stop is Friesenplatz (subway), approximately 1–2 minutes away on foot.

Access to the Building:

The school is located on the 2nd floor and can be reached via stairs as well as by elevator.
There are 4–5 steps at the main entrance.
No ramps are available.

Access Within the School:

The rooms are accessible without steps.

Doors and Passageways:

All classrooms are at least 80 cm wide; the main entrance door to the school is 87 cm wide.
No automatic door opening system is available.

Sanitary Facilities:

The toilets are not barrier-free accessible.
The door width is approximately 67 cm and is therefore not suitable for wheelchairs.
However, there is space for 2 people inside the toilet.

At BWS Germanlingua Munich Language School

Public Transport Access:

The nearest stops are Karlsplatz (Stachus), Sendlinger Tor, Marienplatz and Reichenbachplatz (subway, S-Bahn, tram and bus).
The school is approximately 10 minutes away on foot from these stops.

Access to the Building:

The school is located on the 2nd floor and can be reached via stairs as well as by elevator.
There are steps at the building entrance.
Therefore, the building is not fully barrier-free.
A ramp is available at the entrance; however, it is relatively narrow and may not be suitable for all wheelchairs.

Access Within the School:

The rooms are accessible without steps.

Doors and Passageways:

No automatic door opening system is available.

Sanitary Facilities:

The toilets are not barrier-free accessible.

Information for People with Visual Impairments or Blind People

All areas are well lit (bright, but not glaring).
Important information can be explained verbally upon request.
Signage is designed in large, clearly legible font with sufficient colour contrast.
No information is available in Braille or tactile writing.

Seating in class can be arranged to ensure good visibility of teachers.
A quiet learning environment is maintained as far as possible.
No induction hearing loop systems are available.
Staff are open to written communication (e.g. via smartphone or written notes).

Explanation of How the Service Is Provided

BWS Germanlingua offers German courses for adults and young people aged 16 and above at its Berlin, Munich and Cologne locations.
Interested persons can use the website to find information about course offers, course formats, start dates and prices, and can book language courses online.
After successful booking, participants receive a booking confirmation as well as further information regarding the course schedule and organisational details.
Classes take place in person at the BWS Germanlingua school premises.
Prior to the start of the course, participants may complete an online placement test in order to be assigned to the appropriate language level.
During their stay, staff are available on site to assist with organisational questions and support.

Compliance Status with Accessibility Requirements

The services of BWS Germanlingua are currently partially compliant with accessibility requirements.
This applies both to the digital provision of information via the website and to the physical accessibility of the school locations.
Some areas and content are currently not fully accessible due to structural conditions or technical limitations.
BWS Germanlingua strives to reduce existing barriers step by step within technical and economic possibilities.

For booking processes and forms, we use the external system Fidelo.
